The Colorado School of Wing Chun is now under the direction of Sifu Phil Switzer. Pure lineage, 10th generation direct via Grand Master Yip Man. Wing Chun is a very direct no-nonsense fighting system that emphasizes not meeting force with force, balance, structure, and economizing motion.
The Colorado School of Wing Chun was founded by Sifu Jerry Gardner and later run by Sifu Bart Mann. Sifu Bart had over 35 years of teaching experience and was also a homeopathic doctor skilled in Chi kung meditation, acupressure, and stress management. Sifu Bart passed away July 5th, 2006.
The Colorado School of Wing Chun does not require contracts. Class fees are payable as donations to our parent non-profit and go entirely to the overhead costs of running the school. Our instructors are volunteers dedicated to passing the art along to the next generation of martial artists.
Wing Chun Fundamentals - Thursday: 8:00-9:30 pm, Saturday: 9:00-10:30 am
Wing Chun Kung Fu taught in a less demanding environment designed for a more casual student of the martial arts. The teachings are the same while the environment is less traditional and more geared to the needs of our local community. This class focuses on the fundamental principles and movements of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Wing Chun for Families - Saturday: 9:00-10:30 am
Our family classes are an opportunity for younger students to train. We will accept students on a case-by-case basis as young as seven years old. For a child under 17 to participate in these classes, at least one parent must be enrolled as well. This class trains along side other fundamentals students, and is taught by the same instructors.
Advanced Wing Chun - Monday and Wednesday: 7:00-10:00 pm
Authentic, hard-core Wing Chun Kung Fu training that begins with a solid foundation of Wing Chun skills, then moving on to advanced combat principles. Classes are physically and psychologically demanding, pushing students through their self-imposed limits. This invitation-only training follows the traditions and practices of our elders in the lineage.
